The Early Years

Riviera Pizza’s story began with Salvatore Sparacio, who emigrated from Sicily in search of a better life for his family. His journey led him to our beloved Medford Lakes community. In 1976, he purchased Riviera Pizza – embarking on a journey that would bring authentic Italian flavors to our neighborhood. This era marked the inception of a pizza legacy that would be cherished for generations to come.

In 1981, Salvatore Sparacio’s passing left us with a legacy that extends far beyond the confines of a kitchen. His journey and vision brought to life a beloved pizzeria that has become an integral part of our community. Today, we honor his memory and the enduring spirit that continues to shape Riviera Pizza.

Generations in the Making

The torch was passed to his sons, Pietro and Antonio Sparacio, who continued to carry forward his vision and commitment to exceptional cuisine. Angela Sparacio, the matriarch of the family, played a pivotal role as the backbone of this business; her dedication and tireless work every day were instrumental in preserving and upholding the quality and values that define Riviera Pizza.

In 1992, Pietro Sparacio expanded our family’s reach by opening a second location of Riviera Pizza on Tuckerton Road. This expansion marked a new chapter in our history, allowing even more people to savor the flavors that define us.

Over the years, both locations have evolved into cherished institutions. With each passing generation, the Sparacio family has lovingly cultivated and refined our recipes, preserving the essence of tradition while embracing new influence.

Continuing the Family Tradition

In 2018, Pietro Sparacio retired from the helm of Riviera Pizza after decades of dedicated service. In his place, his daughter Alessandra Gambino and her husband Massimo Gambino stepped up to lead Riviera Pizza on Tuckerton Road, ensuring the legacy and commitment to excellence continue for future generations. Meanwhile, Antonio Sparacio continues to run the Riviera Pizza on Stokes Road, preserving the tradition of quality and taste that has defined us for decades.

Today, Riviera Pizza remains a family-owned and operated pizzeria. The legacy of quality, taste, and the warmth of a family gathering around the dinner table lives on. Join us as we celebrate the continuation of this cherished family tradition, where every meal is crafted with love and shared with our extended family – our valued customers.
